But First..Introductions!

HELLO AND WELCOME

My name is Jessica and I am a mental health and marriage and family therapist. I have a master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida as well as a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I specialize, in what I believe, to be the most important component of life…RELATIONSHIPS. At the end of the day, it is the people in our lives that we value and the love we have that gives life meaning. These relationships aren’t limited to our relationship with our partner, but with our children, our parents, our friends, our co-workers, our community, and even our spiritual relationships-whatever that looks like for you. My hope is to uplift you, provide clarity and encourage growth in your relationships and within YOU. And if nothing else, a smile or laugh will do.

MINDSET ON LIFE

Here’s the thing, I have learned theory and tools to support patients in my practice, but I am still in my own stage of growth. I am married, with two young children, a career I’m balancing, and I struggle. I have pain, loss, doubts, fears, and standards for myself I am fighting to live up to. But those things aren’t going to change, because what we call a struggle is life. It is normal to struggle. Life is made up of change and we are constantly adjusting to those changes. But we are growing in the process.

When I am with patients, I meet them where they are in their growth or adjustment to change. That is how I hope you view some of your struggles: adjusting, growing, and getting stronger. Viewing life in this way is healthy and necessary. Because the moment you feel balanced and get a good grasp on your life; there will be a change that will send the scale tipping and you will struggle adjusting for balance again. So, let’s celebrate our resiliency, feel connected through our growth, and laugh about our attempts that fall a bit short. Our hearts were in the right place right?!
